Extreme Wind Event Check neighbouring properties

Extreme Wind Event - December 11, 2021 North Frontenac (and much of Ontario)

The MPOA received the email below from the township of North Frontenac.

We are asking anyone on the lake to please check out as many as your neighbours’ properties as possible and let them know what you find. You can use the MPOA Lake Directory to obtain telephone numbers and email addresses. If you don’t have access to your directory, please email communications@lakemazinaw.ca and we will look the information up for you.

Extreme Wind Event – Power Outages The Township’s Emergency Control Group (ECG) met this morning in response to the effects of the extreme wind event experienced last night throughout North Frontenac resulting in downed trees and the loss of power for a significant number of our residents.

Firefighters and Public Works teams are working throughout the community to clear municipal roadways of debris and check on vulnerable residents. The ECG has contacted Hydro One and is currently awaiting an update on the estimated times hydro is to be restored to different areas within our communities.

While Mayor Ron Higgins has not declared an emergency, we encourage you to check on vulnerable friends and family. The ECG will meet again tomorrow and continue to provide updates as they become available.
