Wildfire Community Preparedness Day May 5, 2018
“Accomplish something great! Organize neighbours, friends or a community group and participate in a project that reduces wildfire risk. During Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on May 5, and through Sept. 30, communities across Canada are encouraged to participate in projects to help reduce the risk of wildfire damage to homes and neighbourhoods. Commit a couple of hours, the whole day, or an entire weekend, and join others across Canada making communities safer place. Challenge neighbours, friends, family members, co-workers, community service clubs or youth organization to create a project and accomplish something great! Efforts will raise community wildfire awareness, help protect homes, and encourage neighbourhoods to work toward becoming FireSmart. In collaboration with The Co-operators, the National Fire Protection Association, and the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction, FireSmart Canada is pleased to present the fourth annual National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on May 5.
