Volunteers Needed

Dear MPOA members and/or friends,
The MPOA Board passed a Motion to form a Fundraising Committee tasked with raising money required to combat invasive species, pursuant to our mandate to protect and promote the health of the Lake. Namely, the highly invasive and damaging Eurasian Milfoil discovered on the Lake. Please refer to our Spring 2024 Newsletter, which explains the issues with Eurasian Milfoil.
We need approximately 25 volunteers to carry out the following:
- door to door, social media, email, flyer campaigning to raise funds
- establish a charitable organization status to issue tax receipts for donations (if feasible)
- organize fundraising events
- organize and secure prizes to encourage MPOA membership renewals
- seek and apply for grants (MPOA has already applied for several therefore, much of the grant writing has been completed)
- set up a go fund me page
- lobby business owners for support, possibly in exchange for MPOA advertising in newsletter
- other fundraising opportunities, as applicable
