We are looking for at least two new members for the Mazinaw Property Owners' Association and hope you’ll consider joining!  Positions open for next year are President and Secretary, and we are also happy to have Board Members "at Large” and other volunteers.  All details about current vacancies are included in the Addendum of this email. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference on issues affecting your property and the health of the lake. For your information, MPOA Board meetings are held remotely during the year.

Please note we will hold a vote to confirm nominated Board members at our upcoming AGM, July 6th. 

As you know, this is an especially critical time for the health of the lake, as we deal with the invasive species known as Eurasian Milfoil. Our Board has been working diligently on these issues, but we need your help! We hope you have had a chance to read up on the issue in our Spring Newsletter and you know just how valuable your voluntary contribution could be. Please visit our website to learn more, about this issue and more. 

If you are unable to volunteer your time, some MPOA members have chosen to contribute financially to the cause of controlling Eurasian Milfoil, beyond our modest $20 (per cottage) membership fee. We will need to raise at least $100k to combat this threat (depending on the type of measure to be taken). N.B. Here are the details for the Board and other MPOA Volunteer Opportunities:

President  

• Acting as the spokesperson for the Board (ie at FOCA, NFLAA) 
• Chairing its meetings 
• Calling special Board meetings and establishing meeting agenda 
• Distributing the meeting agendas and background materials

Secretary

• Capturing decisions made and action items; and distributing minutes of the meetings 
• Keeps an updated list of the terms of office of each director 
• The final keeper of all board minutes, by-laws, action items to be issues in a timely fashion 

We are also happy to have Board Members "at Large”. Specific duties may include:  

• Fundraising Committee 
• IT Support with managing hybrid meetings at the AGM on July 6th and other IT needs.
