What are the Yellow Markers around Lake Mazinaw for?

July 15, 2024

,

What are the yellow markers on Mazinaw Lake?

As a reminder, the MPOA has installed yellow buoy markers to delineate colonies of the invasive species called Eurasian Milfoil, a very aggressive weed. The objective of the markers is to stop watercraft traffic in these areas. Boat propellers, and paddles cause the weed to break off, re-root, and further the spread. When boating, please stay on the deep water side of the markers.

Please do not remove the yellow markers and if one is found unattached, please contact communications@lakemaziaw.ca.
