FIRE BAN UPDATE

Today I received the following update from Casey Cuddy, Fire Chief.

Subject: Fire Ban Update
Townships of: Addington Highlands and North Frontenac
Please be advised that the fire ban will be lifted as of 5pm (17:00) July 26, 2018.
This is a result of combined precipitation we have received, the penetration time the rain has had to decrease the drought codes, the weather forecast, and resources building back up. Keeping that in mind, except for cooking and warmth, and proper incinerators, no fires shall be set out of doors between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
The fire ban information line has been having issues and Bell Canada is working on fixing it.
The smoke you are all smelling this morning is from the northern Ontario fires.
